I’m a Maywood Maker for 2023

Being a Maywood Maker, I'm part of an elite team of 12 talented makers who have been chosen by Maywood Studio to create designs using their fabric collections. Check out below to see the many projects we work on this year!

Meet the Makers

D is for DELIBERATE. I strive to be deliberate (long and careful consideration) in my actions in all aspects of life. In my creative life, that means I am going to try and make projects with a reason in mind, even if that reason is only to make me happy!

Our first Maywood Maker project was to create a mini quilt under the theme, Welcome To Our Garden. I chose a butterfly garden, since butterflies hold a special place in my heart and my son and I love to watch (and catch) the butterflies dancing through our flowers. We used Kimberbell's Vintage Flora Collection to create our quilts. These were featured at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in Sisters, OR, July 2023. This was my first quilt in a quilt show, and I'm so honored I got to be a part of it!

Precut Party!!

For this Maywood Maker challenge, we worked with precuts that use the latest Maywood Studio fall and winter themed collections. I chose to use a fat quarter bundle and a 10” stacker of the Spooky hallow Collection to create a Soft Focus Quilt (Abby Maed Studio) and a Starling Quilt (Suzy Quilts).

Star Make Sampler Quilt

Our final project as Maywood Makers was to create a Star Block using the Shadow Play collection. We were sent 4 colors from the collection and a basic white background. I stayed true to my roots and used a Sawtooth Star variation, trying to play off the “shadow” concept. All the blocks were truly amazing and now there is a beautiful creation to forever mark our groups time together! I have been so blessed to have met and worked with the fabulous ladies over the past year and built some lasting friendships!!
